Tupelo Mississippi's Paul Thorn!

Paul playing acoustic on his custom "Gray Burchette" guitar. http://www.paulthorn.com/burchette.html Gray hails from Elkin, North Carolina. Check out the inlay on this baby. Did I mention Paul has a myspace account? His web site is loaded with cool stuff but his my space account is pretty cool too. The music is one of his classics playing in the background...go explore this one... http://www.myspace.com/paulthorn Posted by Picasa

This band can play!

Do you want to see a great guitar player? Go see the Paul Thorn Band. That man in the foreground of the picture can play as well as anyone out there. This band is very, very tight and very, very good. Paul is a down to earth soul who gives you a two hundred dollar show for $15 a seat. Folks this is entertainment! Forget the corporate shed shows. Let's go back to the theatre and watch the bands rock! This band gave me every pennies worth. What a feel-good feeling. Thankfully I brought home a DVD and a couple of new cds to re-live the experience, if one can do that! I'll be back Paul, real soon...Hey there is that show in Elkin next weekend! Posted by Picasa

Paul Thorn last night in Charlotte.

Paul Thorn Saturday night at the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte. http://www.paulthorn.com/ Oh man what a show! I have wanted to see this guy perform for a couple of years now and I finally made it to a show. What a band! These guys R O C K. They are not to be missed. Posted by Picasa

FEAT FEAT FEAT....

Fred and Paul rocking on guitar. Billy has his back turned in this shot. Ritchie is jamming on drums. It was a tough night to get pictures inside as no flash photography was allowed and there was a big crowd down front moving constantly. I was in that crowd! This band is awesome with the constant jamming. One of my favorite moments was a melody of "Skin it Back" that included several songs including a short version of "Scarlet Begonias." At the end of the show the crowd screamed for an encore! I was on the front row at that point yelling at the top of my lungs "FEAT" "FEAT" "FEAT"... 31 years after seeing this band for the first time they still rock. Damn life is good. Posted by Picasa

Me and Paul at the Neighborhood Theatre.

Me and Paul Barrere http://www.littlefeat.net/paul.html in front of the big red bus that the Little Feat band members travel around in. This is one nice ride...a big old plasma right in the front cabin with satellite TV! Thanks to Kenny Gradney http://www.littlefeat.net/kenny.html for taking this photo. And a real nice job on bass Friday night Kenny. You all rock! Posted by Picasa

Little Feat Sold Out in Charlotte!

Little Feat! Sold Out at the Neighborhood Theatre http://www.neighborhoodtheatre.com/ in Charlotte last Friday night. The line to get in was wrapped around the building! These people have it together. Order your tickets online, they give you your paper tickets in line, and put a wristband on your arm. At 7:00 they let you file in quicky and put your name on a piece of paper. You then pick your seat, tape the paper on the back, and go grab dinner in the adjoining arts district. There are many choices for food...The Mellow Mushroom has great pizza, sandwiches, and all kinds of wonderful beer on tap. I have yet to try the fish tacos down the street...I'll save that for next time! Posted by Picasa

Having too much fun in Danville, Virginia

Me, Robbin Thompson, and Tony Tuner...aka "Brutha T" after the show Friday night. As you can tell from the context of the picture we were having some fun after a great show. I never tire of Robbin's music. http://www.robbinthompson.com/ He always has something new to offer and will play for three hours? Wow..his shows are excellent and if you haven't listened to his work lately you need to dig out your music or just go to the link provided above or CD Baby and test drive some of his latest offerings. You will not be disapointed. Posted by Picasa
