Norah Jones and the Handsome Band Rock Greensboro!!

Norah Jones and the Handsome Band played a fabulous show last Tuesday night. My pictures were not so great but they give you an idea of the cool lighting effects used all throughout the performance. Norah moved from piano to guitar to microphone all during the performance. She also told several stories of her experiences from the day and you can just tell she is very down to earth. Her band was top notch, several of them playing multiple instruments. Very nice! A long show featuring some very cool music. Nora is good pals with Willie Nelson...most of you know she did a cd with a band they called "The Little Willies." Now there is a very fine cd. Anyway Norah mentioned that "The Red headed Stranger" was her favorite Wille Nelson album and played a track from it. I have to admit. This song touched me as it brought back some memories of a time when this music played in my house when my Dad was alive. I have seen Willie tons of times and I really love his music. It was a great night and I think my girls had a good time at the show. Norah rocks...go see her!
Oh, a final note. There were tons of great songs played. A Xylophone! When was the last time you saw one of these? I remember the last one I saw...Steely Dan man. Anyway there were tons of instruments on the stage. A very nice feature to play all the cool sounds from an album. The sound was great. A final thought on this show. The 'Painter Song" I really love this track. She played it. 'Nuff said. Great show!

f I were a painter
I would paint my reverie
If that's the only way for you to be with me

We'd be there together
Just like we used to be
Undertneath the swirling skies for all to see

And I'm dreaming of a place
Where I could see your face
And I think my brush would take me there
But only...

If I were a painter
And could paint a memory
I'd climb inside the swirling skies to be with you
I'd climb inside the skies to be with you

Norah Jones!!!

Norah Jones and Daru Oda last Tuesday night in Greensboro, North Carolina. My seats were way in the back. I logged on to purchase tickets ten minutes before they went on sale. I was kicked to the back of War Memorial Auditorium on row EE....this blew my mind as I usually score nice seats at this venue...this was a sold-out show!
Go read about his great band...http://www.norahjones.com/
Our pal Richard Julian plays with Nora at times but was not present for this show. Nora put on a heck of a show playing for a longgg time! I really enjoyed this one! I guess the shocker of the evening was when I bought my daughter a t-shirt and handed the lady two twenties....and no I didn't get change! Man...the times they have changed!
